Have we been listening to snap counts all week and now it’s finally Super Bowl Sunday and the real thing?
With pundits endlessly talking about quarterback maturity, does assessment of leadership really come down to how the game is played and if the team wins?
Can self proclaimed, mature direction and leadership claim success with a couple touchdowns but deny, disregard and disclaim a losing score?
Are margins of success measured by competency and result with mature and involved fans and players recognizing manure when they see and smell it and maybe more?
So how to avoid the manure and get to a mature circumstance where victory, even dynasty, is not only possible but probable?
Can the odds of history be beaten?
Without effort, what is the assured outcome?
Is maturity that huge hinge of history needed to stay in the game much less prevail?
If the fans and teams are unknowing, uncaring, unquestioning because they lack the maturity of informed perspective, is major rebuild required?
Is it a matter of self defense that a certain seasoning, a maturity, is required, even demanded, to insure success?
Why, in the throes of Vietnam, did 1971 see quickest passage of a constitutional amendment (26th) changing the voting age from 21 to 18?
Was the argument: If old enough to be drafted and fight, maybe die, for the country, the right to vote was earned and deserved?
Compelling perhaps, but should that have applied to the whole of the 18-21 cohort?
In 1973, when the draft was ended and the All Volunteer Force was created, should the 26th amendment have been repealed?
If not then, why not now? Does maturity of the vote matter? If it was 21, in the “old days”, were work and life experiences more rigorous, more molding back then?
Since the age of maturity is now commonly agreed to be 25 (25 is the constitutional age for election to the House and 35 for the Senate), should we repeal the 26th amendment and establish the voting age at 25?
Would that be a mature thing to do in the defense of the team, the nation?
Only if we want to win?
