Welcome to the Third Degree: Tough, Brief, Weekly Interrogations on matters public and private that force thinking and response. This Sunday, we target: Bats
- Generally speaking, am I bats suggesting that most women are absolutely brave, even ferocious, defending family but morbidly fearful of mice?
- Do female mouse reactions batter senses? What about bats? Protect the hair?
- Last night, when a low fast flyer air showed our study ending with an impressive, high G, right break into my office, was my wife’s reaction to this flying mouse much agitated as she shouted out the dreaded two-word command?
- Actually six words, but inclusive of the dread command: “We have a bat (as if the resident fighter pilot was deaf and sightless), DO SOMETHING?”
- No luck in my office and searching thru the house, bat in hand (really a tennis racket), ready to rumble, is this story appropriate for Labor Day weekend and the real start of election season?
- Will words and more be batted around with such venality and velocity that it makes us go batty?
- Right off the bat, should we reject news programs that are really campaign ads and interviewers who don’t ask hard questions and follow up with harder ones?
- With bats making up 1/5 of all the mammals in the world, do you wonder if the number of politicians have ’em beat.
- With estimates that only 1% of bats are rabid, are we very sure that the politicians have ’em beat and know whose bite is worse?
- Does equivocation drive us batty with word salads served up to beguile or try to buy us outright with promises and give aways?
- Designed to be of, by and for the people via our republican form of government and a superior economic system, how’s the game going after nearly 250 years?
- Should we be intent upon staying in the game, swinging our bats, getting hits and being winners, knowing what it takes to be on the American team?
- Where are we? Is the bat signal out and response needed or will we be lured and lulled by lies and lethargy?
- Told how good we have it, how good we should feel, how good it’s going to be, beware the guano?
- Does it get down to who will be the most respected and best fighter for us, for you, Batman or Batwoman?
- Best to bat that around but not be driven guano?
